The word “tumor” describes an abnormal mass of tissue, but it doesn’t reveal whether that mass is benign, precancerous or malignant. Doctors usually need to combine a person’s symptoms, medical history, imaging, endoscopic findings, and tissue analysis before reaching a diagnosis.
Although reliable online health resources can help patients understand medical terminology, they can’t determine the cause of an individual’s symptoms. A clinical assessment remains essential.

1. What is a colorectal tumor?
